It has been about six months since I first joined this site and I have never posted to it. It is not as though I don't have anything to say or hate to write. This last month has finally awakened me to what I am not doing with my life. I am accomplishing very little of what I intended to do -- if I am ever going to write, I have to get intentional about it. Meanwhile, I am getting bolder about my handcraft production. I am more productive and less dependent on patterns. When I was in the hospital, I turned to study and my arts, but not to structured writing. Art yes, words no. Maybe I am trying to tell myself something. This does not seem to be very structured either, but rather a ramble designed for discernment of my own direction, which doesn't much help anyone else and should not therefore be published.

Finished Objects. Since leaving the hospital, I have finished Mary's Hufflepuff scarf (SS/COS) plus a 'beanie' AND a 'bucket hat' such as Professor Sprout might wear to prune bushes in late fall early spring. [Translation: it has a slight brim that did not please my daughter.] A Viking hat for my grand-nephew. A Hoodie for his sister.

Works-in-Progress: 1) Prayer shawl in old rose, ecru in feather and fan pattern; 2) top for my grandaughter Ava in blues and purples, the Very Berry T-shirt fro Knitty(?); 3) another Viking hat for another great-nephew; 4) prayer shawl in mauve, garter stitch, almost done; 5) set of pillowcases to embroider for Christmas; 6) set of purse accessories (wallet, phone holder, Kindle holder) in deep red patchwork. This doesn't include projects I've bought yarn for but haven't started.

Major TIP: Amazon's Kindle will transfer PDF files from your computer through Amazon into a Kindle-readable format and send it back to your own individual set. So what you download from Ravelry or Knitting Daily or Knitty can wind up on you Kindle and go with you whereever you do !
